3 Ways to Style a Maxi Dress & A Nordstrom Giveaway!
Who is ready for summer? Happy April 1! April fools day (are you playing any practical jokes today)? We are getting closer to warmer weather and how nice has it been to have it be lighter longer at night, right? Did you catch my spring wardrobe essentials, here?

What would summer be without the maxi dress? They are so comfy, usually feel like wearing pj’s in public but look a million times better and are more socially acceptable! In addition to comfort, they are flowy and have a wearable fit that looks good on every body. They are a go-to piece that you can easily dress up or down, for daytime style, casual weekends, wedding guest attire, beach vacation and special evenings out. The key to a maxi dress is knowing how to style it! I have three suggestions below to set you up for success with this summer time favorite!

This maxi dress below comes in the floral below, stripes, more florals and black….which is a huge problem because I want them all! The lace up back is striking and does make it difficult to wear a bra so, keep that in mind for the bustier ladies, it does however, have adjustable straps and double lining.
- Choose a coat! A classic way to style this look for those cooler cooler spring days and nights is with your favorite denim jacket – dark, light or white wash. If you want to add a little edge, choose your favorite moto jacket for a weekend night out. I’ll be showing you how to style it with a sweet Easter (or any special occasion) outfit next week. - Belt it! Do you love the forgiving flowing look of the maxi dress, but worry that your figure will get lost in that flow? The easiest way to solve that problem and create a flattering silhouette is to belt the dress at the waist. By doing this you will create nice curves and highlight your figure and slimmest point of your torso! Check out these options to draw attention to your waist, below.
- Knot it! The maxi dress is such a great option for summer at a concert, festival and farmers market. The long flowy fabric is perfect for cool nights and when you’re in that mid-day heat an easy way to cool off in this dress and avoid the hem from skimming the concert floor, tie a knot in the side and create a cool look while staying cool!!
